Photographed by Emily Maye. The first in a series about Jasper.
"I knew of him from winning Junior Worlds and being on the podium again the next year. And when I first met him, he impressed me from minute one. He just seemed like he had things kind of figured out. He was smart about what he wanted and what his ambitions were and what the best options were for getting there. He puts so much thought into everything he does. He sees the whole picture. Not many 21 year-olds can do that.
"Jasper is going to be successful even if he never wins a classic, even if he never wins a grand tour stage, even if he never wins another race once he goes up to the Pro Tour. He will still be successful and teams will always want to have him around. He’s professional, he’s smart, he cares, he’s well-rounded. He has character."1
